Katla is a central volcano covered by a huge glaciar ice cap, at the intersection of the South Iceland Seismic Zone and the Eastern Volcanic Zone in Iceland.
It`s caldera measures 10 km across and 700 meters deep.
Resently Vulcanic activity and earthquakes are typical signs of a comming euruption. Katlas euruption interval spans from about 40 - 80 years and the last one was in 1918.
dont call katla a supervolcano, it isnt.
