  • My grandfahter use to pilot I1 2-10-0 Decapods in helper service up and down these tracks from 1920 until they retired steam on the curve and he continued with diesel helpers until 1961 when he retired. He would tell stories about 2 to 5 helpers Pushing hard at the rear of some trains in a driving rain. No radio all hand signals and whistels no eletronic controls systems only the experience and sound of the engine slipping and takehold. To me he was Legdary and heroic figure of another time.

  • Yes he and others like him are. I wish they got more of that on video(Film).

  • Ah that 3347 has hit the dark side now, this is probably a 67Z

  • This is the Famed Horseshoe curve outside of Altoona Pa. originaly laid down by the PRR. There is a museum there too.

  • Im not sure where this place is exactly but seems like a good place to video. Maybe you can do a video about the place itself. 5*
