skjoldborg is absolutely correct...Kauai is NOT Disneyland. We jumped off this point, but did so after considering the conditions and the unpredictable nature of the ocean. The ocean is a powerful force and needs to respected.
I feel bad that two women lost their lives the day after we were there (high surf advisory/North shore swell w/ 15ft. waves), but I'm more sorry for the people of Kauai, who have to continue to witness the senseless loss of life from careless visitors.

Swam in there lots of times, but not if it's that rough! Good jump off point where you're filming from!

and that's how people die in paradise. those morons got really lucky.

It's common sense not to swim here. Queen's (the real one) is much safer when the surf is down.

We just visited Queen's Bath. We saw the warning towards the middles of the hike, but why is there no warning at this spot telling people not to swim? Obviously, you can look at what the water does, and if smart, not swim, but I guess some people don't have the common sense. We went the rest of the way to the actual swimming spot, it was amazing!

Here's the thing though, my friends and I swam in this area weekly and survived every week. It's not that bad if you know how to swim. That's a big if though. Basically put, the locals of Kauai can handle the conditions most of the time because they're used to swimming in strong currents, whereas those who have never been in the ocean only have pools with no current. The lack of swimming experience is what causes deaths.

did these 2 idiots actually live?

If people would read the video description, you will see that i am trying to do my job and direct tourists from this area which is commonly mistakened as Queen's Bath. Yes, it is what one will see at the bottom of the Queen's Bath trail - but "Queen's Bath" (the calm pool) is much further along. This area is strictly for locals who are very familiar with the immense power of our ocean. Tourists should avoid this area all together in the winter season.

g11wootont is right. And i was watching the "dumb tourists" walking around over there (you can see them in this video) - waiting for them to get slammed. They got away without injury, but not without scoldings from me.
However, a native Hawaiian water's swimmer knows how to do it safely. My son used to dive in here all the time (in fact, i shot this video while he & his buddies were diving here - and regret i didn't capture them!).
