RJ, don't say a powerful, efficient stove is a "fuel waster" when your efficiency is spectacular (74%) (most homemade stoves are 60%) and the quick boil time of 4 minutes is superb!
I think the reason your stove is so efficient is because of the double sheet burning of your center aspiration. There are two boundaries (air meets fuel vapors) of combustion in this type of arrangement, so for the size of the flame it burns twice as powerfully.

That is totally awesome! Love the ingenuitive ideas you are presenting. This gives me some other things to try in the garage. That place is my only refuge. :D

i have not seen a rectangular burner from luncheon meat cans it would be perfect for rectangular mess tin.

Hi!
It will be what a good fire!
Why did you hide such a splendid fire?
Please free all the fire of the alcohol early.

Very large, hot, blue flame. Nice, Robert. Does the screen act as a catalizer for the gas?
The wick is fiberglass the type that used on wood stove doors etc.
