Originally aired as part of the "Sailing" episode (Episode SH1013H) on the Food Network, March, 22nd, 2008.

Ingredients:

• 1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
• 1 packet beefy onion soup mix (recommended: Lipton)
• 2 tablespoons ginger teriyaki marinade mix (recommended: McCormick Grill Mates)
• 1 (8-ounce) can pineapple rings, drained, juice reserved
• Salt and freshly ground black pepper
• 1/3 cup mayonnaise
• 1 tablespoon wasabi paste
• 1 tablespoon soy sauce
• 4 whole-grain burger buns
• Lettuce, tomato, onion, for serving

Directions:

Set up grill for direct cooking over high heat. Oil grate when ready to start cooking.
In a mixing bowl, stir to combine ground beef, soup mix, teriyaki marinade mix, and 1/4 cup reserved pineapple juice.
Form 4 patties slightly larger than bun. Gently press pineapple rings into tops of burgers.
Season burgers with salt and pepper and place on grill pineapple side down. Cook 8 minutes per side for medium.
Mix together mayonnaise, wasabi, and soy sauce.
Serve hot on toasted buns with lettuce, tomato, onions, and wasabi mayonnaise.
INDOORS: Follow instructions for preparing burgers. Preheat broiler. Place burgers pineapple side up on wire rack over foil lined baking sheet or broiler pan. Broil 6 inches from heat source for 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium.

  • she even uses soap that foams on it's own......

  • "Mouthwatering, falling apart, tender, juicy and perfection!" Wuh? I didn't think "falling apart" is a good quality for burgers to have. Then again we didn't put pineapple Jews in our burgers when I was growing up, maybe that was our mistake.

  • lol @ 1:16 "ya gotta get in there and make these babies" that what she said!!!!!!

  • Sandra Lee talks about Wasabi: "This stuff is hot, hot. So be careful with it." Proceeds to put in a fat squeeze of Wasabi. Real Wasabi sends hellfire up your nose to your head and makes your scalp sweaty with just a dot. That's how you know her Wasabi's not the real deal. And what's with her haphazardly throwing these Asian ingredients together? Just because Teriyaki and Wasabi are both from Japan, doesn't necessarily mean they're good together.

  • how can the burgers be cool when you take them off the grill

  • "YUCK" PINEAPPLE AND MEAT the worst combinatoon in the universe

  • 'they save you lots of money because there's lots of flavour in them'

    THAT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE!

  • Whenever I'm feeling a little depressed I read the comments on Sandra Lee videos and my life becomes just a little bit better.

  • Thats kind of rasit because you said " you get the the wasibi in the ASIAN section" so that kinda threw me iff so FUCK YOU sandra

  • "two of my favorite ingredients"

    vanilla and berry vodka?

  • I don't think pineapple and mayonnaise is ever a good combination regardless of how you dress it up/flavor it.

  • Every episode of Sandra Lee's shows should have a disclaimer telling viewers not to try this at home! Because everything she makes is terrible. Don't waste food.
