  • this movie was adapted from a story. cannot remember the name, but it had nothing to do with Cleveland or 1968.

  • @ 2:54 sample used in Raekwon - Glaciers of Ice (single version only)

  • My father Alvin Character played a police officer in this movie. I have been trying to get a copy. If anyone knows how I can obtain the movie, please e-mail me at: Angelbonnise@aol.com Thank you.

  • When will this movie be on DVD?

  • Max Julien was a very good actor, but he was typecasted as The Mack. Julian Mayfield was an activist and writer first. I think he didn't like the direction black movies were taking and didn't pursue a career in acting after this. I thought he did a great job in this movie along with Browne and Raymond St. Jacques.

  • I enjoyed Roscoe Lee Brown's performance in this great movie. I also wonder why Max Julien (as well as Julian Mayfield) never persued acting much further.

  • I mean to say great drama, not great thriller.

  • Not the first blaxplotation movie imo. The first blaxplotation movie was The Cool World directed by Shirley Clarke in 1963. However this is more of a great thriller or mystery movie than an blaxplotation movie. The performance are top notch especially by Raymond St. Jacques and Julian Mayfield. Also Ruby Dee, Dick Anthony Williams, and Juanita Moore really stood out too. This is a great film that TCM should show along with Nothing But A Man.
