Sky 3D is amazing, i got it yeasterday :):)

@WhichWebsite why? surely a separate decoder box that merges the 2 polarised images is far easier AND cheaper than buying a whole new TV. I have a feeling that the need for a new TV is a bit of a con. I played on a 3D computer system that did this back in 1999.

Is it just me that Sky 3D is quite frankly one of the worst rip offs ever? Like really its ridiculous. I mean HD is one thing, but 3D is just a pisstake in my opinion. Relating to sky and HD does anyone else feel that sky are trying way to hard to promote their HDness? Announcements on channels "watch so and so on sky 1 HD" "Watch the football on Sky sports 1 HD" As if its the norm when its not :/ Dont mind little advertisement of HD but their trying to brainwashing us into buying their HDcrudd

what's the point in this? 3D TV's or at least Samsungs, upscales 2D into 3D anyway i belive, so if you just have standard sky, 3D takes affect anyway. So the point of this is?

@SquishMark From our experience upscaled 3D in no way rivals content filmed in 3D. There is a significant difference in quality and watchability. The difference is even more significant than trying to upscale SD to HD.

that makes no sence how can an old sky hd box transmit 3d when they were designed for a hdtv, surly thers no need for a 3d tv.

@senzers69 It does make sense. The programmes transmitted by sky are sent as two images side by side as you can see at the start of the video. The box treats this as a normal signal and sends it to the TV. At this point you need a 3D TV that combines the two images in a way that sends one to your right eye and one to your left making the 3D effect so all the processing is done on the TV which is why Sky has been able to roll it out so quickly. If you had a normal TV you would see the two images
