On 18 April 2009 a group of seven planes headed off on the Aero Club of Broken Hill's, Yunta brunch "Fly Away".
We departed Broken Hill at 8.00am sharp and made our way to Wadnaminga Station for a spot landing competition, which was won by one of our guest flyers, before heading onto Yunta.
Upon arrival at Yunta we parked the planes and gathered to visit the Mobil roadhouse for morning tea/coffee/breakfast/brunch/lunch. We were greeted by Roslyn Breeding who is the Editor of Yunta's North East News and Yunta correspondent for Mid North Broadcaster as well as Secretary of the Yunta Racing Club Inc.
After a brief flight over Yunta by Roslyn, courtesy of Jeff Woodroffe, we all gathered at the Mobil Roadhouse for a great brunch. Best in the West! During our meal it became obvious why no one every demands Bruce Church to "come on, just spit it out man!"
After brunch we all departed Yunta as a group and returned directly to Broken Hill for a chat and a coffee before heading off into the wild blue yonder of Broken Hill.
We are an active Club and we try to conduct regular "fly away's" to places like our well attended "Yunta Brunch". We also promote trips to many other different overnight locations. The last being a few months ago to Bruce Church's property, Bushley Station, situated between Ivanhoe and Wilcannia.
