The Bridge 1/9

The Bridge focuses on the large number of suicides that occur each year at the Golden Gate Bridge, capturing footage of the suicides and interviewing family members. Also interviewed are people who have attempted suicide at the bridge, witnesses of the suicides, and a jump survivor.

The movie was shot with multiple cameras pointed at a notorious suicide spot on the bridge during 2004. It captured 23 people as they took their final plunge, and then offers interviews with grieving families.

Call me a selfish asshole but i think it's selfish to make a person who's tortured and annoyed with life stay here with us. Let them go peacefully and in a way they wish to go. They hate the way things are going for them. Let them go on their terms and be happy that they did it and not somebody else. Sorry.

And it is also a perfect of description of suicide. When someone takes their own life, they care more about their own momentary distress then the negative effects it will have on everyone they know for the rest of their lives. Ruining the lives of everyone you know... to end your own life.

unless you've experienced this kind of torment you don't have the right to judge. Did you know that person as a child? Do you know what they went through? Perhaps....just perhaps, if you had had to walk in their shoes you wouldn't have stayed around as long as they have.
