SMASHING PUMPKINS RETURN

Smashing Pumpkins is reportedly reunited, but longtime members D'Arcy Wretsky and James Iha won't be with the band. The comeback by the band features vocalist and mastermind Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. Other musicians for the re-formed band were not clear at press time.

Chamberlin and Corgan had remained friends throughout the years, and he was in Corgan's failed Zwan project. In an interview last year surrounding his Jimmy Chamberlin Complex solo effort, the drummer said that his relationship with Corgan has always been about music rather than a big marketable name.

what was done in the 90s will remain in the 90s...it's over. that fresh distorted sound, it was great for that decade. but no one has come up with a new sound though.

I saw them live in my hometown Dublin, Ireland. They were great but anything they released after they got back together was terrible.. =/

I, for one, am so grateful that the dead weight is gone (James and D'Arcy). Now Jimmy's drumming style is missed tho.
