What can I say? I'm the Jay Leno of shitty GM economy cars.

Good luck with it! If worse comes to worse i'm sure you can find a 2.2l engine at a good price!

yeah blown head gasket likely. these engines are great but are known for head gasket failures.

i have a 1991 cavalier 4dr with the 2.2L. that car has well over 200K on it, the odometer broke at 172K. it has been nothing but solidly reliable. im thinking about going to look at a 93 tomorrow that only has 12K miles on it, he wants a substantial amount of money but 12K on one of these cars is nothing, take care of a 2.2 it will take care of you. if i dont buy that car i think i want a z24, maybe stick shift with the v6 (2.8/3.1). these are great little cars and cheap/simple to work on

@xScoobyDoo82x and ya know, I buy stuff from Ross Towing from time to time, even if I don't own any cars. That is something about me that should be honored.

@xScoobyDoo82x yeah... mine blew the head gaskets at 69,000
-
@djkain2007 As far as I know this one just needs a head gasket. At 69,000 miles I sure at hell hope the motor isnt trashed.

@xScoobyDoo82x lol.... indestructable 2.2 4 cylinder
I seriously think that you should just convert that to an electric car. Besides, another strategy could be to buy multiple models with compatible parts, and make a profit off multiple individual cars by selling individual parts, as well as merge good parts into a body with bad parts, as well as scrap the gas motors in favor of 100% electric motors. Because gasoline is a liability to my standards.

@SamuraiClinton Im sorry but that would be a complete waste of time and effort. Electric cars are NOT the future. They would also be hideously impractical for my daily commute. Hydrogen is the future though, and if I could cost effectively convert a car to run on hydrogen I would.

@xScoobyDoo82x Yeah, but I still think there are other reasons to write off gas guzzlers. Like with the hobby I have of repurposing secondhand auto parts for improving bicycle safety standards, as well as charismatic standards on them.

@SamuraiClinton Well this car was far from a gas guzzler anyway... it was capable of 32mpg+ highway and thats impressive even for todays standards. Theres no convincing me at all that electric cars are the future, they're not, they're a step in the wrong direction.
