  • @Neutrinoghost this is scotch, not cognac. never warm scotch in your hand unless you want to get sick on it. i take mine with just a little bit of ice to chill it down. Also, SO different things with water vs. saliva. There are aromas and flavors that open up when you put just a little bit of water in it.

  • @MrFibertiger how is that creepy? He's making sure the whiskey covers his tongue and hold it in his mouth for a few seconds. Gerry Tosh of highland park does something similar when he said to chew, or bite, at the liquid.

  • this guy definatley knows his whisky! Ive used his advise and it really has helped me enjoy my whisky that much more. Just on a side note, the part about the primary tastes, and their locations on the tongue is false. This in fact is not true, and it stemmed from a misunderstanding in a i believe Japanese journal many years ago. And their are 5 tastes now, the 5th being Umami

  • @Neutrinoghost It is pretty common knowledge that water OPENS the whiskey up... Their not diluting it, merely adding a factor

  • he's creepily into whiskey 1:55

  • The man sounds exactly like Jeremy Irons. It's a good thing.

    Excellent video, cheers!

  • Hi Just noticing all the comments. Charlie MacLean is one of the world's leading authorities on whisky. He has written numerous books on the subject, is a sought after speaker, on the selection panel of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society and evaluates whisky for many of the major brands. Of course even Charlie admits you drink it how you like it.
