  • Right! And it's also just two notes...

  • The original score (available free from Choral Public Domain Library) marks the Kyrie as "Andante con moto", tempo 72. This performance is "Allegro ma non troppo" at a tempo of 120+! One could perhaps overlook that on the Gloria, but it is far too fast for the Kyrie. Possibly we are being treated to a performance of the Schubert Mass in G for those with busy schedules and not much time to spare! ;-) But the pronounced up-tempo performance *does* negatively affect the majesty of the work...

  • ack... das ist viel zu schnell...

  • @bugr88 no its not it actually looks professional if you know what that is!

  • Probably the conductor need a wc...

  • @dancermadchen77 it's because he's showing the music, not the 3/4 ;)

  • and the conductor.... his conducting skills are crazy... i can not see a clear 3/4 conducting technique

  • They're having the orchestra's conductor conduct this, I'm guessing? Rather than whoever specifically works with the choir? He's giving them entrance cues, but next to no cutoffs... cutoffs are just as important as entrances to keep a piece sounding clean! Plus, the conducting is kind of erratic, like the typical orchestra conductor... I know this because I also play cello in addition to sing...

  • + for technique and sound, but big - for tempo. Kyrie is so calm and steady, but you killed the spirit of this part. Too bad...

  • @bugr88 yep, it's actually standard practice for requiems, oratorios, Mass's etc...for the soloist to have the music. It's sort of like a prop. :)

  • @Throwthebones15

    *customary
