@Valexz11PM Get SNES9X for the Mac, open a ROM, make a freeze state exactly where you want to start hearing music, and go to Music Box in the Option menu. Or, you can download ZSNES and turn off channels there, but I don't remember how on ZSNES.

Is it possible to isolate individual sound effects out? I am working on a fan project of Fzero, and would like various effects recorded seperate from the music.

@Logicfray Absolutely, and it works the same exact way. When you go to the music box or whatever sound program you use for SNES, the sound effects in F-Zero all take place between SFC channels 6, 7 and 8.

the sound quality that snes outputs is simply amazing, sony spc700 audio chip is a great thing to be added to a 16 bit console nothing less expected from nintendo and sony

@lordoftheriffs79 Couldn't agree more. The SNES had superior audio for its time. I love the Sega Genesis almost as much, but it's rare to not run into a real Sega fanatic who rants about how much potential the Yamaha YM2612 chip had and how similar it was to arcade sound, but, in my opinion, it was overall used poorly compared to how the SNES's SPC700 was utilized, overall. No lie, though; the YM2612 did have excellent potential, though.
