"Hostage" Standoff in Hancock, MD Comes To An End

The "hostage" situation that had all of Hanconck, Maryland and all travelers who use the Potomac River Bridge there that links Berkeley Springs, WV to Hancock, MD and Interstates 70 & 68 held hostage for two days came to an end last night, Aug. 22, at around 7 p.m. when Maryland State Police arrested both James Prevatt III and his so-called "hostage," 8 1/2-month pregnant girlfriend Renee Reynolds. The pair was formally charged early this morning, Aug. 23. Prevatt faces various counts of felony theft and drug charges, and for threatening to use an explosive device; Reynolds is facing felony theft charges and conspiracy charges. Police say they expect additional charges will be filed in the near future. Both are being held at the Washington County, MD Detention Center. Prevatt is being held on $500,000 bond, and Reynolds on $250,000 bond. SWAT teams moved in on the room just after 7:30 p.m. Friday evening. Officers tasered Prevatt as he opened the hotel room door to get a meal. They also used a small explosive device to knock the back door down.

You don't live right in Hancock if you live on 522. 522 doesn't go through Hancock. You sound pretty miserable. It might be time for a change. Have you thought of, say, even SMALLER towns like Big Pool or Heavenly Acres Ridge or Warfordsburg? Someplace where there aren't any people that could make you feel like you live in such a gay town or make you feel so bored.

Wow, the gayest small town, huh? That is pretty brutal. What's even more brutal is when that guy from Baltimore stopped at the Sheetz there and he was high on PCP, and he broke through the plate glass window, and he flung his HIV-positive blood all over the place. They had to close it down for a couple of days to clean up after him.
