This is Milo and Melissa working in a winter parking lot. Milo is a "deficit dog" meaning he started his life in a feeding trial - he had never been out
and about before coming to us at 10 months of age. With work, his happy intelligent personality has shown through. One trick with such dogs - deficit or sensitive - is to teach them to look to you when anxious/distracted.

Enjoy!

  • I think it means he lived in a group kennel inside... he was clearly well treated, happy guy, but also clearly had never been ANYWHERE.

He was terrified outside- just shook, would not take treats and tried to bolt. So we have come a long way together and Melissa continues the good work.

We get attention like this from the games played, not by cuing it verbally and not by holding cookies to our face.

  • "He starts paying attention to HER movement." SO helpful to see it in action. I didn't know Milo came from a feeding test--does that mean he lived in a crate inside?
