same in nepal where kirat people use ama to call their mother and apa for dad. kirat are the native people of the himalayas regions including nepal and northeast india. kirat language falls under tibeto-burmese language family. but in nepal the official language which is call nepali is indo-aryan language. nepali language is relative of hindi.
