@anyplace4u2, contractors and developers have a higher concern for making money. Architects have the social concern combined with knowledge of construction, sanitation issues and design innovation regarding availability of materials and skills.....as well as many other factors. So basically architects are needed.

i understand where anyplace4u2 is coming from but if the building is to stay sustainable and to survive generations, it has to serve and cater to the needs of the people who live in and near it.

im a first year architecture student and seeing this document today really opened my eyes to what we are here to do.

i hope to one day impact the world with my buildings and designs :D.

ppl always get mixed up with the idea of building and architecture, third world ppl need buildings, contractors to get the job done! why bother with architects?
