Always loved "Confidence" as the CBS NFL theme dating back to the mid-60s. Anyone remember when they had choral signing the the song? Wish someone would release those old sports themes from the 50s &'60s!

This was Frank Gifford's last year at CBS. Roone Arledge wanted Gifford for Monday Night Football but Gifford had one more year on his CBS contract. So Arledge used Keith Jackson for one season until Gifford was available Jackson didn't know his selection was for only one season and was very bitter about about being replaced.

I loved this theme since I started watching the NFL on CBS in 1964. Is it possible that anyone has a clean version?

The old NFL theme song, "Confidence", is a wonderfully uplifting piece of music; one of the few tunes you don't mind that you can't get out of your head. Have loved that one since I was a kid watching football on Sunday mornings. Better days.

Even if that was the intention, it was poorly executed.

@bakerandbaker1 Surely that fisheye lens wasn't used for the actual game itself? I would have to assume it was just for that little "artistic" sweep from the field to the booth announcers in the intro.

the announcers, who is that man sitting on Frank Giffords Lap? thats innappropiate,

@dave4248 interesting enough, if Cowboys win vs Giants, we will see a Lions vs Cowboys wild card match.
-
@dave4248 The Lions were a very good team, then.

1:21 Glieber should have gone to a different barber. He looks like he would have inspired the haircuts of the typical TV nerd character.
What's weirder? A game with a final score of 5-0? Or the fact that the Lions made it to the playoffs? with a good defense much less?
