There is real atmosphere in Saw part one, Paranormal Activity part one, Wolf Creek, Silent Hill, and the original The Eye and A tale of Two Sisters, and Insidious.

@grindhousejunky79 I hear you on that one.

There's just no real atmosphere in horror films anymore, the 70's and early 80s were the peak years for such a necessary commodity. Black Christmas, but also fiims like the original Chainsaw Massacre, Last House On The Left, The Exorcist, The Child, The Headless Eyes, Axe, Rituals, all of Dario Argento's work, DeathDream, Halloween, Maniac, Alice, Sweet Alice, Living Dead At Manchester Morgue, Zombie, The Beyond, Phantasm, The Brood, The Changling, Just Before Dawn, and countless others.

@oldschoolbx1970 I'll always choose ANY original horror/exploitation film over a shitty remake of said classic film, no matter which one it is.

I'll always choose this grindhouse original over the remake anytime.

That was one hell of a scary film! Love it when smart-ass Margot Kidder gives the dumb cop the fake phone number! LOL!

An underrated classic

@hobokenplayboy I disagree. I think the original trailer is way too long (4 minutes?!) and gives too much away. movie kicks ass, though...

I remember seeing this trailer and the poster for this in a drive in back in '74 and it scared the b'jeezus out of me. (I was 7).

The original BLACK CHRISTMAS trailer is more effective. The voiceover is too plain in this version.
