Hair soaks up oil spills

You shampoo because hair collects oil. That means it can collect petroleum oil spills too. Over 300,000 pounds of hair are cut each day in the US and not to mention all the clippings from pet groomers.

Little kids are awesome. You do one tiny experiment and they go nutsx) I only wish they didn't have to be learning about these things.

I am doing a project on how hair adsorbes oil and my experiment showed that a person over the age of 55 adsorbes the most oiL!!! It's great what you do

¿Por qué los animales tienen que pagar por esto? ¿por qué si no hacen nada? :( es realmente injusto lo que los humanos hacen por el medio ambiente , es realmente injusto que los animales y todo el ecosistema muera por parte de la raza humana, ojalá vinieran a Chile a recolectar pelo , si es por una causa tan bonita quien no lo haría?

Hair booms can be used in many ways. Wrapping booms in donated burlap coffee been bags reduces the minimal shedding that does come off of the booms. It's fine to have a little hair or fur come out of the booms as it's just natural fibers going into the ocean full of birds and mammals with fibers anyway. Conventional booms are made with styrofoam and fiberglass and they break up and release dangerous materials into the water, so hair and fur and fleece and feathers are much safer to work with.
