  • Excellent. Much as I like the Jackson 5 original, this pisses all over it.

  • Fantastic! GP and the Rumour were amazing.

  • Nothing like an intro where they accuse you of plagerism!! I thought the guy was going say he was also a suspect in the Zodiac murders and the DB Cooper hijacking!

  • @CraigG1960 Agreed. Every time I hear the Jackson 5 I wish it were GP.

  • @auramac I've got to agree with LissG76 - I don't think Dylan can sing either, and I'm not a great fan. I would never try to deny his genius though. I quite like this performance, but I agree with you that the Jackson 5 version is much better. KT Tunstall does a good version too.

  • @jonbecker03 You know that you could be right and the recordings never saw the light of day simply because he didn't want them to once he gained some popularity. Like a lot of rockers associated with "New Wave" in the mid to late 70s, he always tried to distance himself from "the hippies." With exceptions (Band, Morrison, etc)

I'm going to post this question on his web site and see what he says. He's great about answering.

As far as what he sounded like it would seem to me, vocally at least

  • @cabronte if he did record albums in nineteen sixty nine, they were probably with some obscure british psychedelic band that never went anyplace. maybe he recorded some DEMOS in nineteen sixty nine and these have never seen the light of day. (honestly, i'm having a little fun imagining what parker might have sounded like back then. it would be interesting to hear some graham parker "artifacts" from that era.)

  • Sorry, I'm a Parker fan, have been for nearly 30 years. This pales next to the Jackson 5 version, and anyone who states that "Bob Dylan can't sing" (and sucks) has no credibility whatsoever as far as I'm concerned. Even when you're right- it's probably for the wrong reason. No, this is interesting,, but not Parker's finest moment.

  • why do they give the wrong years of production for his first 2 albums

  • he lasted longer then a rumour as well

  • haha.... bob dylan doesn't sing tho... he just talks. (and sucks)... bob can write songs, but cannot sing them.
