Ofra Haza - Der Weg nach oben (Clip 2)

Some excerpts of a ultra-rare Ebay find:

A german PAL VHS copy of the israeli movie "Na'arat haparvarim" (1979) starring Ofra Haza.

It`s german title is "Der Weg nach oben" (~The way to the top) but in brackets you can read in english "Princess of the Village" - although it`s genuine english title is "West Side Girl".

And like 99,99% of all foreign movies released here it`s also dubbed in german.
The name of OH`s character "Vered" changed to "Berrit" but as far as I know the names of the other characters stayed the same.

A typical musical film - take some less or more known musicians and celebrities, let them sing a few songs and add a less or more silly story and enough people will watch it at the cinema.

This movie was also released on a regionfree DVD with hebrew audio and burned-in subtitles in hebrew and english.
And as far as i can remember it was a "flipper" meaning that the movie was on the upper and lower side but one side in NTSC and the other in PAL.

@jtnix Nothing like that! This is an Israeli movie in which Ofra meets 3 bummers and they help her get money so she can make a sergery so that she can see again. After the sergery she becomes a succesful singer, and can't find her friends, because she have never seen them. One day she meets them, and in the end of the movie they go to the old house where they lived.

Ofra was religious. She would have never played in a movie that incorages polygamy.
