In July of 2001, the artist Hans Freeberling had an art opening in an empty gallery claiming to have 'installed' nothing. Many of the people in attendance came unprepared for the artist's literal inter-pretation of the show's subject matter and responded correspondingly. This film not only chronicles the highly successful opening, but includes commentary by local and international figures in the art community regarding the artist and the merit of his work, as well as insights from the artist himself. Hans Freeberling was a San Francisco based artist at the time of the making of "The Art of Nothing." His work is known in London, Paris, New York and other parts for its unconventional, explorative approach and total commitment to Art for Art's sake.
Basically, some joker fills a Gallery with Nothing, and puts on a German accent!
Art critics believe him to be real, and Dissect it.
Very dry & funny.
i hope this isn't the future of art

Sorry Hans: You can't destroy civilzation all by yourself.

so in this context, do understand noone can claim nothing, it is a introspective view from the artist in his path to enlightenment, i find this intersting in his point of view, though people has trancended his understanding and it is old news for most high frequentic artist, the people who attended this show needed it, but for aestheic purposes of the "concept" nothing it lacked excitement and passion, nothing in an art sense you can do everything and still say it is nothing, this it lacked

i think this is just a clever scam on the 'art world'. the 'artist' nearly looses it when the guy starts talking about monet 6 mins in, but does well to pull it back. clever.
