I don't believe that centering knocks it down a grade. If the centering was really off (they list it with (oc) mark meaning off center. I think there just a bit more lenient towards older cards because its not uncommon for cards to be off center in those days. But you can have a 7 (oc) but its probably valued as if it were a 6 because the (oc) mark is regarded as a defect.

On and off for the last 25 years or so. It runs in spurts. Every so often I'll go on a run where I acquire a lot of cards and then do nothing for several months. I've been on a bit of a run the last 3 months but I'm going to tone it down for a while.
