  • hahaha-please dont share with us your big folklore knowledge

  • It´s folk of the southern Balkans... it´s Greek folk but close to the Bulgarian folk - a very clear thing.

The gajda exists in all nations of southern Balkan countries... the lyra is called gadulka or kemene in Slavic countries, the bouzouki tambura... - close cultures and a very interesting piece of Europe with an unique folk-tradition.

Don´t be nationalistic - enjoy the music.

  • @romeikos2 Is the Thracian Syrtos in 9/8 like this melody? Do you know of any videos where we can see it being danced?

  • @aloe123123

The song is "Vasilepsen Avgerinos" and is danced as a Thracian Syrtos. "Bogdanos "is the name of a song and dance from North Thrace, the region of Kavakli (Topolovgrad). The musicians are from the Evros region of Thrace. I recognize Panos Zikides, from Pendalofos village, on gaida and Alexis Partinoudis from Oinoi on lyra.

  • mpravo mpre koumparoi....etsa na kratate tsoi pradwseis.....eiste tromeroi kai akia apano

  • "called mpoudagnos'":the song"

  • perhaps the musical group was from Edesse...

  • I'm from Spain and I would want to say i like so much this music, and particularly the complex steps of trakhian sirtos; I think I've already heard before in a cd of music from a makedonian village near tesaloniki, named 'mpougdanos', but I'm not sure, l,ll test it; excuse my english

  • All Balkans were Byzantine Provinces for at least 1000years !!!, Slavs only appeared in Northern Balkans in 700. And they didn't even have a normal language.
