@frecklezac Honestly I'd say their camera work and attention to lighting and composition is what takes it to a new level. I bet they'd be able to make something incredible with an average point-and-shoot camera.
These days, quality nonDSLR video cameras are so common, using expensive DSLRs for hobby video work is kind of pointless. Any HD video camera with a manual focus ability will probably serve you just as well. Bonus points if you can put filters on it.
