Hand feeding my pair of red factor canaries baby. He is from their only fertile egg, so many adversities are against him, but we're soldiering through. I left the 3 infertile eggs in the nest so he will have support and hopefully avoid splayed legs, as the mother will sit on the nest, but neither mother nor father will feed him for any number of reasons. I use fresh boiled egg everyday, and homemade nesting food (thanks Robirda) consisting of basically whole wheat bread, oats, cream of wheat, sesame seed, and Hagens Prime, mixed with a little water. The syringe is cleaned daily and he started with about .1 or .2 ml per serving, and now is up to about .5ml per serving. Money can't buy this bird if I do get it raised! lol :)

Could you tell me how much you were feeding as it grew in days. Mine is 7 days old and I'm only feeding .3 ever 45 mins she still wants more but I worry about over feeding.

and do I need to return them back to there parents.
the father died the mam can take alone care of the baby.

@ALYAZGI he was the first successful hatch of the parents, they didn't know what to do, so it was up to me. he is now grown and healthy! :)
