  • What is the name brand or the make of the jacket he is wearing?

  • @josephtorres11 Probably TAD gear, Triple Aught Design.

  • @tubedude1428 When did i say he was MARSOC? He said it himself, he's a 14 year veteran of Force Recon. I encourage you to email him and tell him he's not.

Go to the Magpul dynamic website and read his resume.

"Travis Haley | CEO Magpul Industries Corp.

Travis Haley is a veteran Force Reconnaissance Marine with 14 years of dedicated real world experience including; combat tours in the Balkans, Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa and other classified locations around the world."

  • So what about a guy who is 5' 7". Would you still recommend a single point when in order to keep the rifle off the ground it has to be so short that mobility is gone? At my height carrying a 14.7" rifle in a standard single point means the rifle is not only touching the ground, it's practically laying on it.

  • @spam1712 I agree totally. I have a one point system that I've hade great success with. I tie a 3' piece of an old bootlace(beyond affordable) around the trigger guard and tie the other end around my neck really tight in case I have to run and pull people to safety. That way it doesn't hit my sensitive knees, I can pull a person with each hand, and then one or two people can hang onto my rifle and get dragged to safety while returning fire with said rifle. We were all doing shit like this in Nam.

  • yeah single points are teh best imo

  • I run a Blackhawk 3 point sling on my M4 because it is so versatile and can be switched to 1 point configuration in a second with the pull of a strap for transition from strong to weak side and back again it gives the best of both worlds in 1 sling.

  • @josephtorres11 It is definitely TAD Gear softshell jacket. Which is around $400 plus dollars!!! Good stuff though. If you want a "replica" you can always go for the Condor Soft shell. I dont really like Condor products but I was suprised to see that Condors softshell is decent and for around $80 you wont kick you but knowing you blew $400 bucks on a TAD

  • Larry Vickers has a great article on 1 vs 2 point carbine slings at vickerstactical

  • 1 point slings suck balls for everything except close quarter stuff and thats it.

I much prefer 2 or 3 point slings. They can still be used fast, not quite as fast as single but fast enough for me. Its not like almost all of us are going to be gun fighting in our streets.

I only see the use for single points in competitions and thats it

  • @josephtorres11 I think it's a Arc'teryx LEAF

  • @Kataquan no need to safety your weapon before you transition, you should only be transitioning to pistol after your rifle has run dry, or you get a click or some other type of malfunction...the whole point of the transition is to get another gun into the fight ASAP after your 1st one runs dry/malfunctions..if your on the range transitioning before your rifle runs dry(kind of pointless to me), then yes, safety on would be better....Thank you that is all.

  • It all depends on the application. Thank you, that is all
