In late July 1993 we visited the 7.25in gauge miniature railway at Great Torrington in Devon. MARK ROLLE was our locomotive on that wet morning. www.railwaybook.com
The Fosters are now my neighbours and are a lovely couple.
I go running along where the old track was and it's such a shame that it is no longer in use. I never got the chance to see it up and running having only moved here just over 3 years ago.
P.s. are u a member of the bideford/instow railway group. If so whats going on there because the website is down and I want to know when it's back on and if there has been any activity.
If you go through Torrington from Bideford and take the hatherleigh/Okehampton road you will go down the hill and there will be a sharp turn (180 degrees) to Hatherleigh. The other road goes to Exeter. Take that road but just as you take it, there will be a small road to your left next to a house (Might look a bit grassy) It used to be down there.
I live in Guildford, Surrey but my mum and dad have a caravan at Smytham Manor (little Torington) and I used to always go here when I came down for a holiday. We went there about a year ago to see what it looked like and the tracks are still there very overgrown and i think all the buildings have gone. Bit of a pity it has gone, was a brilliant place to go and the people were really nice.
@XBabyXBirchX If you sell any of the railway get in touch

What a lovely railway, loco, stock and all!
