  • u jump like that in my dojo and we sweep you out...no true martial artists will jump and remove their grounded positions... this is insulting! I am a sensei of Goju-Ryu! thats all i have to say.

  • I saw this about a year ago and pissed myself laughing...today, I'm still laughing hehehe! (from someone who has done Goju ryu "karate" for 47 years!

  • I though Jodan was among the simplest Kata's for beginners this is defiantly not the Kata I learned

P.S children black belts are the ULTIMATE tip offs for mc dojos and you can't even spell the name of the Kata right

  • this is exaggerated breakdown of gojukai kihon kata taikyoku jodan ni, first four steps

left sanchin jodan age u'ke, zenkutsu jodan tsuki, step bacl/turn behind repeat right side.. then step back left foot to turm down centre of embusen - where this demo ends..

  • tykyoku jodan ichi and ni, chucan ichi and ni,

    gedan ichi and ni..

this is exaggerated version of first 4 steps of jodan ni [jodan age u'ke in sanchin, jodan tsuki in zenkutsu] stops at turn back up centre line of embusen..

  • Well, there's good karate, and there is bad karate. I think which this is, is clearly evident from the video.

  • Not for sure myself, but I believe that Yamaguchi Sensei created his Taikyoku kata from the "Tai Chi" kata Series that he learned from Yagi Dai Sensei's Meibukan system: ther are 4 seperate Tai Chi forms: Jo, Chu, Ge, and Ko Uke in the series. Basic forms teaching: distance, timing, positioning, conditioning, etc.

  • Just in case anybody mis-understand my comment, clarification, these calasanz katas are neither Goju-ryu or Goju-kai. They are his own version of real katas, performed badly by him.
