Well...no. One can manipulate the board to get to him, otherwise, he stays put.

But at least there are different ways to get to Toad depending on the type of board, right?

No. There was only one main way with two versions: get to Toad and pay him 20 coins to receive a Star, or get to Baby Bowser (Koopa Kid) and pay him 20 coins for a chance to win a Star via a Dice game that you'd usually win on.

Didn't the first Mario Party have different ways to get Stars as well?

Yeah. But to be honest, I'm sick of the whole Star gethering...and mushrooms, and coins, and Bowser, and DK not being a playable character, and Boos, and Koopas, and Goombas, and Shy Guys, and blocks, and Toads, and Peach getting kidnapped, and the same old plots, and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah... CAN WE HAVE SOMETHING "NEW" NEW?! ...Sorry, but I had to get that out of my system.

yeah its true Mario Party 6 just started to do that then they continued that on the rest of the Mario Party serious

No kidding it is. MP6 is the first game of the series to have boards with different ways to get the Stars.
