I really think that they are gay. That is just to obvious!
CLAMP says that there is an unbreakable bound between them. If CLAMP let somebody "give" his arm to save somebody, than there is love. In shounen-ais from CLAMP the dog and the cat are the symbolic that they are gay. Fye wears in Japan a Yukata and the symbolic for it in the past is verey interessting. If Ninjas had a lover the lover would were this Kimono.
