MMOs Have Ruined Single Player Gaming

Gabe explains how he's unable to get into Oblivion, because why would you grind for armor that no one else is going to ever see, or a healing item that's not going to help your friends?

Recorded April 5, 2006 for the comic The Zone of Pure Breakfast.

  • Why the hell do you make these videos?

  • @HamsterX6 These are 90 minute podcasts- the videos are the "highlights" from certain shows in short 5 minute takes. If you don't find them amusing, then I just saved you 85 minutes. You're welcome!

  • THat is so true about the rareity of items from games like wow. It's like u get that nice sword at the end of FF7 or kindom hearts and your like"Sweet new weapon". but it does not compare to getting that 310% flying mount that drops off keal that only like 5 people on each server of thousands have.

  • This never works, there are some games that do this, the issue, is that it's way too easy for someone to cheat. Example being taking a fully hacked character and then bringing them to the online world where they just smash the shit out of everyone who's playing legit.

  • @ImNgamer Ah. I see. Thanks :o

  • =D im the 3,000th viewer.

  • wanna know something rilly cool i wanna mmorpg but have the option to play it online or offline singleplayer

  • i think trophies and acheives are kinda ruining games now i think, like id rather play a mediocre game with trophies than a great game that doesnt have trophies. or like older games on the ps2 i wont usually play, cause i think "whats the point"

  • games are replacing movies as the premire medium of story telling/ group activity.

on both resident evil 4 an mgs 3 i spent more time watching and hanging out with my friends than playing it myself, and got more enjoyment out of it.

  • Huh. Rare drops were my least favorite things about WoW, because I felt they got in the way of actually playing the game <_<

  • reponse: fallout 3.
