...SG's one and only olympic silver medal, which was won in the 1960 Olympics. It was in weight-lifting, not table tennis. And the Olympics silver medalist was Tan Howe Liang, not Li Jiawei, Feng Tianwei and Wang Yuegu.

Buying Olympic medals is shameful, especially when there is no welfare money for poor, sick or elderly Singaporeans. PAP's refusal to spend even a single cent to fulfill its governmental responsibility - take care of these Singaporeans Nation Builders who have contributed their entire lives to build up Singapore in the past 40 years - coupled with its willingness to spend millions on foreign sports players, constitutes an unacceptable behaviour that disgust all thinking native Singaporeans.

While other countries do import athletics, no other country ever treats its own native citizens with such contempt while putting foreigners/ new citizens on a pedestal! Your fellow native Singaporeans are proud of you, Mr. Tan Howe Liang!

I sympathise native Singaporean top table-tennis players JENN LIM PEI QI and ZENA SIM, who were not given opportunity to particiapte in tournaments despite being our own top players

This is an educational orientation video, aimed at introducing Singapore to new foreign students studying in Singapore and pupils holding Singapore permanent resident (SPR) cards in primary schools, secondary schools (including the Independent Schools (IS) and those in the Integrated Programme (IP)), junior colleges (JC) and the polytechnics. It is especially recommended for viewing after the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE), or the two Semestral Assessments (SA1 and SA2), or the two Continual Assessments (CA1 and CA2), where there are ample time for some Civics and Moral Education (CME). The importance of National Education (NE) cannot be overemphasized, as the Ministry of Education (MOE) has emphasized many times. Students of the National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and Singapore Management University (SMU) should also view this video, especially if they are under various MOE or Public Service Comission (PSC) scholarships or the edusave scheme.

Foreign Talents (FT) and other not-so-talented foreigners working at Fusionpolis, Biopolis and the other "polis" of various A*STAR organisations may be interested to infuse themselves with some knowledge of Singapore too.

Majulah Singapura!
Happy National Day, Singapore!
Let us all shine for Singapore!
May Singapore always be 晴空万里!

  • it is the fact that the athletes are really better than our native singaporean players..im not saying that they are bad, just in comparison they lose out..i love table tennis alot, i believe all that they do they do it for us, they do it for singapore

  • All that they do, they do it for money! And, of course, for their own personal fulfillment in sports! They did NOT do it for Singapore!

If any other country had paid them more than Singapore, they would have taken up citizenship in those countries and played for those countries instead. That's why there are lots of Chinese table-tennis players in Australia, Germany etc.

First you buy people over with money. Then you deceive yourself that they did it not for money but for you. Zzzz

  • Yes, they are better players than Singapore players. So? Are you a world-class table-tennis player? I don't think so.

What if your parents decide to give you no money to buy table tennis bats/table and instead, they adopt a few step-children who have more potential than you and send them to expensive private coaches? How would u feel?

A country, just like a family, is about spending money on your citizens/children. Not abandoning your citizen/children for outsiders who can perform better!

  • To be honest I don't see any Native Singaporean in this video.

Singapore will still be a bigot country unless Singaporeans themselves really understand the term Native Singaporean & acknowledges it.

Go ahead & give me a thumbs down if you want to. Truth hurts.

  • Tan Howe Liang came to Singapore when he was 4 years old! As far as I am concerned, that's enough to qualify him as a native Singaporean.

Quibbling that he should be born in sg, is to trivialize the extreme situation where PAP import *adult* foreign athletics

  • That was what she said to Singaporeans. What she said on Chinese TV was: "希望在2008, 我自己又是一个北京人,又是中国人,我希望能在自己的本土,怎么说呢,自己的地盘上能够取得一面奖牌。"

They are not misunderstood figures. Today, they can sell China for money. Tomorrow they can sell Singapore too. Actions speak louder than words.

  • DO you know how Obama ended up in the white house? He was supported overwhelmingly by young voters! In sg, voters born post-1965 is now the majority. YOU, as a running dog, has a lot of material to work on! You can start here:

    youtube com/watch?v=FwCVd_PE4mE

    Good luck! lol

  • And what fighting have you seen? bet Lee Kuan Yew and Lim Chin Siong? Then you should know that Lim said and did very credible things. No need to put a question mark behind. It should be an exclamation mark:

    youtube com/watch?v=gCGLaiKFaX8

But if you mean fighting as in riot, please lah, that's an old excuse for suppression of free speech, whose benefits outweigh the cost.

  • > I thot u hv some material so I created an a/c & wrote something.

wrote what? Go re-read! It's nothing but personal attack. ha!

    > Now i know u are nobody.

Nope. Now u know I am somebody. Someone capable of giving meaty replies as demonstrated by my "filial piety" reply and my "drink water/source" reply.

And so what do you do? You trivialize me by saying: "u're just a young punk". How pathetic!

Go see this and be more fearful, doggy:

    youtube com/watch?v=FwCVd_PE4mE

  • > Wat a delight to know tt.u're just a loud gong.

1st, you are the loud gong who can only talk abt age instead of a proper reply. 2nd, why should it delight you..

..unless u are a pap dog!

U r not just a pap supporter but a doggy, based on your first senseless personal attack comment. Only doggies make such unfounded attacks. Genuine pap supporters do not.
