David Cameron will consider the key challenges facing NATO at this important time in the organization's history. His speech comes ahead of the Bucharest Summit that will take place on 2-4 April.

Many commentators and analysts have observed that if the wrong decisions are taken at Bucharest - or if no decisions are taken at all - then the Alliance will face not only deep internal disagreement, but also questions over its future role and relevance - Chatham House

David Cameron is a member of Parliament for Witney, Leader of the Conservative Party.

Born in October 1966, David Cameron has worked at a high level in both business and Government. He spent almost seven years at Carlton Communications plc, one the UK's leading media companies, where he was Director of Corporate Affairs and served on the Executive Board.

Before joining Carlton, he worked as Special Adviser, first to the Chancellor of the Exchequer and then to the Home Secretary, working closely with Ministers on major legislation, budgets and spending rounds.
