Honda Motor Co., based in Tokyo, Japan, will be recalling an additional 437,000 vehicles in what has become an ongoing, 15-month process that involves cars around the globe. Faulty airbags are the culprit for the recall, which was originally announced in November, 2008. Honda will be replacing driver side air bag inflators that can apparently deploy when too much pressure is applied to them, potentially causing injury or death. Of the additional vehicles that are being recalled, 378,000 are in the U.S., while 41,000 are in Canada and 17,000 in Japan. The total recall from Honda is now affecting 952,118 vehicles in total, including some Honda vehicles that go all the way back to 2001.

A 14-year-old Phoenix girl was locked in a room, starved and abused for two months, and her father and stepmother could face charges of unlawful imprisonment, kidnapping and child abuse, police said Wednesday.

In a move that is sure to have the agriculture industry grimacing and labor-rights advocates cheering, the Labor Department is reversing a Bush administration rule that allowed farmers an easier path to hiring temporary or seasonal foreign workers.

The number of U.S. households facing foreclosure in January increased 15 percent from the same month last year, and a surge in cash-strapped homeowners whove fallen behind on mortgages could be on the way.

More than 315,000 households received a foreclosure-related notice in January, RealtyTrac Inc. reported Thursday. That number is down nearly 10 percent from 349,000 in December, which saw the third highest total since the company began tracking foreclosure data in 2005.

A judge has delayed a ruling on whether Michael Jackson's father can obtain medical records related to the death of his superstar son.Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff said Thursday he wants to further consider arguments raised by Joe Jackson's attorney. He says he will issue a ruling next week.
