@bl0xta Oh for sure! I used to be 17 stone and lost over 6 stone a couple of years ago. I only got into fitness last november but now I own a great set of abs! lol
I have a video on here if you wanna have a look at my progress.
I loved it and a lot were novices but there's no pressure to sprint round, just do it at your own pace and as a team is much better I think :-)
GO FOR IT!

@bl0xta Yeah, i for one had never ran one, i am ex forces though so i kinda had somewhat of an idea what its like, but that was 11 years ago haha, i would say 80% of the people i spoke to there were 1st timers,

@NeverBeenSoFit Hi, I'm thinking of entering this for the first time in October, do you get many novices having a go? (being someone who has only recently started an exercise regime I have a lot of work to do!). Cheers
-
Great video cheers, now i can prove to people how tough it was lol.
-
And I thought it was further than 3.1 miles....it felt like 10! Lol
-
I think someone got hurt in the heat after mine cos I saw an ambulance go roaring up to the slippery wall, could have been the guy.
I didn't bother throwing the rope over, wish I had lol. I did spear throw and burpees cos it was like throwing a cocktail stick!
I really enjoyed it, can't wait till next year....they're bringing the beast AND the death race!!!!!
-
@NeverBeenSoFit some guy broke his leg on that obstical so i think they left the ropes over for people to stop doing that,
also, i had to do the spear throw, but my memory card was low so i paused it until the finish line, i filmed the whole race and it was 4.5 miles long not 5k so the memory card was a lot fuller than expected.

@OminousOli People were throwing the rope over so they could climb down it the other side, I however chose not to do this and landed with a thud on my arse! lol
How long before this race did you start training? I am looking to run my 1st one this summer.

@rmillar394 ive been a runner for quite a few years, and i'm ex forces, but the guy you see in this video who i ran with trained for like 6 months tops, for the 5k sprints i would suggest you train to run 6 miles comfortably, and you have a fairly decent upper body strength, you should be able to do like 20 push ups, 10 pull ups etc. you really dont need to be super fit for the sprint races, the super races you do, and then the beasts... well, you need to be FIT for that.
