Yeah i have to say that there´s a good possibility that Nintendo rip-off this game....and a lot of other games.....originality is so rare,if we do a good movie,or a good game or a good song there will always going to be thousand of other people doing the same crap....oh well, that´s life
Also, the game was released on 86, same year as Zelda, don't know for sure which one came first... but I wouldn't bet for Casio... their Chibichan's Big Adventure is a rip-off from Mario. Car Fighter is a BIG rip-off from Road Fighter. Hades no Monshou from Knightmare, Casio's Baseball from Konami's Basebal... and some people see a lot of similarities between Youkai Yashiki and The Goonies.
Though Casio did some pretty good original games too :)
The level design gets more and more complex as you advance in the game. You need to collect those golden spheres to change them for special items on certain secret rooms. If you don't get those special items, you cant finish the game. There are DOZENS of secret rooms in the game, some are automatically opened when you have a high intel level.
The game is more complex than it looks, and very ahead of its time. IMO the best game Casio made for MSX.
Yeah, well. Nintendo likes money, and so do I. I would do the same thing they did if it means turning into a multi billion dollar company. Can't blame them. Even if they ripped of the idea, they got their money and is WAY too late in the game to sue (and by who?).
The MSX version of King Kong 2 came out in the same year as the first Zelda, and both of those share a ton of similarities, too. Man, and people used to say Nintendo was original.
[I know this is a really late response, but its the first time I see this video.] Doesn't it all depend on who came first? MSX was released around 83' when The Legend of Zelda (on japan's release of it) was in 86'. So I think it was more of Nintendo who did the "getting away with it." But without the release date of this game, who knows.
I've seen quite a bit of MSX software in my day, I have never come across this game. I would have mistaken it for a Zelda version - weird that Casio got away with it.
