Personally, as long as the DJ is energetic, the lighting/stage production is good (for example skrillex's CELL from the mothership tour, or Excision's X-Vision from the x-tour) and the music is good, I consider it to be an awesome show.

@yellowboiproductions He wasn't really trying to insult DeadMau5, he said "the least he could do".
Although DeadMau5 does use programs such as Abelton to perform live, alot of his show lies in his lights. He even said it himself in an interview.

I don't give two craps if the guy plays music straight from his walkman, I just want some epic music. I feel cheated when there is no show.

I am preparing for playing my EBM live and what I will be doing is cutting the vocals and lead synths out of my tracks and doing them live. It's just me but eventually.. hopefully.. I can find band mates. Check my music out!

I started out DJ'ing and felt I was cheating. Then I fell in love producing tracks. But all in all I cut up the samples build ups and channels into separate locations and link them to a trigger finger and novation launchpad and use a few of the nobs for effects.
