@ac1013dc nothing its not a floating bridge

I like elixer strings.they sound like new strings that have been played in a bit.taking that harsh sounding new string sound off.
I like replacing this les paul type bridge on me les paul with a good quality wraparound bridge.it sounded much better.stayed in tune better.and shortens the length of the string so ya can bend the string easyer.
Because of the shorter string its not as tight.know what I mean.

smells like teen spirit - metallica

I have a question. How high must the bridge be? When I press the strings on higher frets they start trembling against the frets and making noice( My ancher is tuned but the noice doesn't stop(

this is the best video for stringing ;) thank you sir.
by the way we have floating bridges on all our jazz box should we replace them with these bridge? We do not want to mod our guitar by drilling the body because it will devalue our guitars.

what happens if you're an idiot and you accidentally adjusted the screws on the tailpiece and have no idea how to set it back to the correct height?

what happens when you remove all the strings on a tune o matic string thru body guitar. i ask because i am replacing the pickups.
is it harmful to remove all the strings at the same time with a tune o matic string thru body guitar. i ask because i am replacing pickups.

@ac1013dc Probably safest to do it one at a time, but I'd suggest you contact a repair shop or your guitar's manufacturer for specific advice on that. Best of luck!

i dont get it, if you lower the tailpiece, it will put more tension on the string right? but this tension you will release when tuning the instrument back to E ............no?

@PiercingTruth Setup can become complicated, as you've discovered. Trying to find just the right balance between tension and tuning and all the possible adjustments that can be made is why we try to find people like John Carruthers to give us some tips. Wish we could have him on staff here! The best answer is going to come from a repair shop (or the manufacturer of your specific guitar), so we would urge you to give one of them a call to play it safe. Best of luck!

does this string locking technique work on acoustic guitars?
ox0Jason0xo 1 year ago
@ox0Jason0xo It does, though Taylor Guitars uses a different method. See that video for more info, "How to String a Guitar -- Elixir® Strings and Taylor Guitars."
