On Tuesday, October 20, Georgia Juctice Project and more than 200 people from around Atlantas community joined in the 2009 GRASS ROOTS JUSTICE AWARDS to honor the work of Leah Ward Sears, former Georgia Supreme Court Chief Justice; Horace Sibley, King & Spalding retired senior partner and Chair, Regional Commission on Homelessness; and Katie and Mark Bashor, respectively the Executive Director, and Founder and Executive Director Emeritus of Central Night Shelter.
The Georgia Justice Project created the Grass Roots Justice Awards in 2008 to honor individuals in our community whose commitment, leadership and hard work advance justice among the poor and in the community GJP serves. Event proceeds benefit Georgia Justice Project in its effort to break the cycle of poverty and crime that negatively affects tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands in metro Atlanta.
