And this is why English archers were feared in battle more than anything else.

Bravo. Good shooting!

Just to let folks know I am writing a book on how I shoot the long bow and crossbow including stories from my time at Warwick castle and Sherwood and other places. It will include historical facts about the bowmen.

You're the man Kev, not only keeping English history alive but you are a part of that living history - for which you have my respect and admiration. Keep up the great work and please post more vids in future. I'd especially like to see you do some pieces on English swords from the medieval period.

@squidballs2 Hi, thank you for your comments. The bow I was shooting has a draw weight of 80lbs. Medieval archers did wear gloves. I shot without one for a few weeks and tore the ends of my fingers to shreds, and had a fletching cut through my knuckle. In the video I'm only shooting 30-40 yards but am currently practicing at 250 yards. I plan to do another video this year & will post it on Youtube.

@thehistorysquad primarily, I would like to say...amazing video, but I have some questions. Would the traditional english archer use a glove or would they let the fletchings fly over their hands? what is the pull weight of that bow? and ultimately how far are you shooting? once again, fantastic video and keep it up!

Awesome video! Simple and to the point. No rambling, no hemming and hawing. Pleasant narrator.
