watching your video made me feel better after watching many other videos on youtube. I previously commented on another video that almost anybody can pour concrete but only a true finisher can leave a presentable job, not only the finished product but the area around him/her also. This pour was a fine example, everyone knew there positions, carried their tools around and Thank God, I dont think i saw a single worker wearing shorts!

well last time we pour 300 yards of concrete walls for some foundations in tk's new plant downhere in alabama
and it took 4 hours with 1 single pump, that means if we pour during 12 hours straigt that means about 1200 yards ,i agree with mr fernandoalemus but who does all the formwork?u must be working on a big proyect and there must be more than 14 other guys to get formwork done a day before

Thanks for this video, really informative. My kids loved it! Remember, cement comes in a bag, concrete comes in a truck.
we pour concrete everyday 120 trucks 9 1/2 yards each with a crew of 14 mexicans and 1 black guys in california, beat that :p

@fernandoalemus No one can say you guys aren't earning your pay-wow! Thats a ton of yardage. Is it mostly footings, foundation concrete ? How many square feet of finish work per day?

@arossona Are u UNION
mandoj68 1 year ago
@mandoj68 Nevada is a right to work state, some subs were union shops, others were not. There were no exclusions again non-union contractors on our project. I would venture that most were non-union. In Las Vegas, the unions typically work on the large commercial projects, particularly Casinos. I believe ALL projects on the strip are union.

Thanks for the feed back John. Also, those of you that are interested in seeig some other preslab videos and how others do it, check out RangerJohn's page. They have a great video showing one of their very large preslabs.

very nice job. things are done a bit different here in houston but interesting.
the only complaint i have is the "jitter-bug" (the tamper), ACI has said to NOT use a jitter-bug because it has been shown to increase the likelyhood of shrinkage cracking and "spiderwebbing" on the surface.
all in all good stuff

Ranger John,
Do you go straight from screed to bull float or do you have a different method from using the jitter-bug before you float?
