look up the difference between poison and venom. poison is absorbed or ingested; a poisonous animal can only deliver toxic chemicals if another animal touches or eats it. in other words, if those snakes were poisonous, he wouldn't be able to pick it up wit' his bare hands. if venom is inhaled or touched (as long as there is no open wound through which venom can get into bloodstream) you will be fine. you can even consume venom. you might end up having diarrhea, but that is it.
