well they finally changed the wikipedia to say that Monstervision started in 1990. I don't know if that's accurate, but I know it was before 1993. The Will Vinton looking claymation moon version may have started in 1990. I wish there were more tapes from that era.

  • @trapadoored All I've been able to find about the pre-Joe Bob years is that it started in 1993 and was a Saturday night special of monster movies. Penn and Teller hosted it off and on. Sometimes they were there, and sometimes the movies just aired without them but still under the "MonsterVision" banner. Look up "Tribute to TNT's Monstervision" here on YT (by JamesNintendoNerd). It's a great little retrospective that talks about the entire run of "MonsterVision."

if only I could find out some info about the pre-Joe Bob years of Monstervision. Wikipedia says it started in 93, but I swear it started in 92 or 91, Penn and Teller hosted in 93 I think and that was a while after it had been on. I might be wrong about when it started but I do know that when t started it had a claymation moon for a mascot and no host. Mostly 50's giant monster movies were shown.

  • @trapadoored Also, the show moved to Los Angeles starting on September 11, 1999 (just after "Joe Bob's Summer School" that year finished), and there was another blond mail girl named Summer who started soon after. I think she alternated with rather than replaced Rusty. They both accompanied Joe Bob in huting the Hollywood hairs for the 'Nair Witch' during the Halloween Eve "Nair Witch Marathon" in 1999.

  • @trapadoored I've been doing some research on MonsterVision's schedule, and here's what I've uncovered since I first posted. It premiered on TNT sometime in June 1996, it moved to Saturday nights sometime between mid-97 and early-98, and it aired its final Joe Bob-hosted episode, "Children of the Corn 2," on July 8, 2000. Honey was the first mail girl, followed by Reno (I'd forgotten about her). Sometime in the Fall of '98 Rusty became the third mail girl.

I never watched or had the movie channel-but I can vouch for the fact that Monstervision didn't stay on friday nights for long on tnt before moving to saturaday-but by the time it did move Honey was not on it. I never saw the Friday version and never saw honey but on saturdays Reno came first-then Rusty-then I think maybe Reno came back. I liked Rusty.

  • We're talking cruise missiles!!!

  • Honey is stunning and beautiful as always.Bestill my heart.

  • @wsaylors I believe Honey started as Joe Bob's Mail Girl on The Movie Channel. She might have also been on "MonsterVision" when it first started, because I do seem to recall there being a blond Mail Girl when I first started watching it who was then replaced by Rusty. Then there was another blond, named Reno, who I think replaced Rusty in the final year or so of "MonsterVision," when it was moved to Saturday nights. I'm not 100% sure, of course, but that's how I seem to remember

  • Love it. LOL. Joe Bob directed me to be mean to him during the last few show. He is so funny.
