The Water Wars portal (designed by Dan McCarey) is highlighted in a special edition of Foreign Exchange devoted entirely to global water issues. Daljit Dhaliwal interviews Pulitzer Center journalist Alex Stonehill and draws on the portal to share video reports and student perspectives.

This report is part of Pulitzer Center-sponsored project "Water Wars: Ethiopia and Kenya" (http://bit.ly/sa6BtQ).

  • kind of a loaded comment Joel and i agree in part. education can help curb exchanging earth resources for human life, and also make us more efficient . We now outnumber ALL large mammals, our unbalanced growth is a breeding ground for other lifeforms that will be our demise Far before we 'consume the world'

  • Even if we give water or some how magically create matter (water) the pop. will just go up in the future cauing more and more demand eventually we will consume the world

  • The video looks at important issues around water - needs to call us to action

  • We recently discovered water on Mars planet while in parts of Africa it is sorely lacking and that the earth and covered may close a 80% water if not more. Its leaves a "think"...

  • Without water on a planet, all life is impossible.

  • The role of media is essential in this case as in many other cases. The misinformation and propaganda are a "danger" and information when it can save lives.

  • No, of course we are not going to find ourselves "in the street," because my "neighbor" if found ...

  • But since my "neighbor" African or not is in a more precarious situation put forward, then I settle for my own personal situation?

  • Starting with the Americans who have given him their confidence, but throughout the world or other men and women believe in this message of "hope".

  • But beyond the symbol and the "euphoria" that will eventually fall, the challenges of today's world are so enormous and complex, it will take more than a beautiful speech that managed to give hope to millions of people.
