Le Cheile, formed in 1974, play a few social tunes in 'The Kilkenny Tavern', South Wimbledon in December 2009 shortly before releasing a new album, the band's third (others 1975and 1978) in 2010.
The album is called "Out Of The West". It was recorded and produced by Gerry Diver at 'The Tunehouse', Palestine Grove, Mitcham, S.W.19. These reels make up most of track 7 on the recording. "Out Of The West" has 17 tracks in all, including 5 songs: Molly Brannigan, The Old Arboe, The Devil's Dancefloor, The Pride Of Kildare and Killyburn Brae.
Having regularly headlined at the Camden and Hammersmith Irish Centres over the last couple of years the band completed a short tour of the west of Ireland during the summer of 2009, taking in Matt Molloy's in Westport, 'The Coleman Country Centre' in Gurteen, Sligo and a concert in Galway City. Currently arranging dates for 2010.
All gigs will be posted on www.lecheile.eu as they are booked.
