Here is some more detailed information about my exploration of the various sounds produceable on the Rim of the PanArt Hang. These techniques and areas of interest can be played on all hanghang, but I must say that in my experience with multiple hangs from several time periods of PanArt's production, that the 2nd generation Hangs made in 2006+ 2007 produce the harmonics and "slap" tones along the Rim better than any other time period.

Happy hang playing,
OM

  • Very cool thank you! What tuning is your Hang? JC / England

  • D Minor Thanks!

  • it looks like you're wearing no pants...

  • Well, there is a hole in the bottom of the instrument...

  • And what about the Integral Hang? Many differences from this 2nd generation hang?

  • Some IHs have a good rim shot, many do not. Not all 2nd Gen has a strong rim shot, and not so many first Gen have it either. Same goes for overtone isolation
