  • @pikeflyfisherman Cool man, pliers were left 400 meters downstream and only realized when I went to use them. I try not to hurt trout!

  • @rivergod21 I've never fished in New Zeland but in Scotland I regularly play 2,3 and 4lb Brownies and big Grayling on a 5wt and barbless hook set up and have never lost a fish because of it, keep the rod high and the line tight and things generally hold ! Just looked a bit rough removing the hook in the video that was all mate. Tight lines !

  • @pikeflyfisherman God man I give the slimy little buggers enough chance using a 5#. Na man I'm there to hook them and land them. I try my utmost to set them free as fast as possible with as little stress as possible. I appreciate what you are saying but sorry barbless hooks are not for me. Thank you for your comment though, tight lines.

  • A great catch Shane but why don't you fish with barebless or de-barbed hooks ? Again, a cracking fish !
